Biography

Salvador (Sal) Montes received his B.A in History and B.S in Psychology from Concordia University Chicago and received his M.S.W from Dominican University in 2019. He also holds a Professional Educator’s License (PEL) from the state of Illinois.

Sal specializes in tweens and teens who are struggling. Sal’s therapeutic experiences come from working in culturally diverse high school settings. Sal uses a person-centered and trauma informed approach in his sessions. He also uses cognitive behavioral therapy to help adolescents make lasting changes in their lives. Sal works well with students who are diverse learners and need additional school support.

Salvador also has experience working with teens who struggle with mood and anxiety. Sal practices pet assisted therapy with his canine partner Luigi the Therapy Dog. Luigi has experience working in the high school setting, providing comfort and support to teens and their families

Sal enjoys playing guitar (he taught himself), playing video games, and running. He was a student-athlete on both the cross country and track team, but now focuses on local 5k races and fun runs.
