Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidenced-based public education program that teaches participants how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. The 8 hour training helps participants identify, understand and respond to signs of addictions and mental illness. The goal of this training is to make responding to a mental health crisis as common as using CPR in a cardiac emergency. Mental Health First Aid teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well.
